Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Pricefort.
What does Pricefort do?
Pricefort compares your Shopify prices with your Faire wholesale listings and flags any difference. It catches the cases where your Shopify price has dropped below your Faire MSRP, or where your wholesale markup is thinner than it should be.
Do I need a Faire account to use Pricefort?
Yes. Pricefort connects to the Faire Brand API using an API key from your Faire account. Generate one in your Faire brand settings under API.
How do I connect my Faire account?
After installing Pricefort, open Settings and paste your Faire API key. Pricefort checks the key and starts loading your Faire product listings.
How does Pricefort match Shopify products to Faire listings?
By product title, ignoring capitalization. If a product has the same name in your Shopify store and your Faire brand profile, Pricefort compares the two prices.
What do the alert statuses mean?
Below MSRP means your Shopify price is lower than the Faire MSRP you set, which undercuts your own suggested retail price. Low margin means your Shopify price is under 1.5 times your Faire wholesale price. Warning means the multiplier is between 1.5 and 2. Good means pricing looks healthy across all checks. Not on Faire means no matching listing was found.
Can I fix a price directly in Pricefort?
Yes. From the dashboard, any product flagged Below MSRP or Low margin shows a Fix price button. Clicking it updates the Shopify variant price to match your Faire MSRP.
Does Pricefort change my Faire listings or my inventory?
No. Pricefort only reads your Faire listings. The one thing it can write is a Shopify price, when you click Fix price. It never changes your Faire account, your inventory levels, or any other data.
How often does Pricefort check prices?
Prices are fetched live each time you open the dashboard. There is no scheduled background check yet, so open the dashboard whenever you want a fresh comparison.
My product shows as Not on Faire but it is on Faire. Why?
Matching uses the exact product title. Check that the name in your Shopify store matches the name in your Faire brand profile, including spelling and spacing. Also check that your Faire shop is active and the listing is published, because Faire only returns live listings.
Why do some products show as Draft?
A draft listing on Faire is not visible to retailers yet. Pricefort labels these so you can tell a real pricing problem from a listing you have not published.
How do I dismiss or resolve an alert?
Open Alerts and click Mark resolved next to the alert. It moves to your history and does not come back unless a new price discrepancy is found on a later check.
What does it cost?
Pricefort is free to install and use.
